It was yesterday announced that Minister for Immigration and Asylum, Jean Asselborn, has convened an extraordinary 'Justice and Home Affairs' (JHA) Council for 9 November 2015 on behalf of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Due to the deterioration of the situation on the ground, this JHA Council to be held in Brussels will attempt to reinforce and operationalise the European response, to guarantee the follow up and implementation of measures decided to far and if appropriate to decide new measures.
It was also announced that Minister for Immigration and Asylum, Jean Asselborn, is due to continue his visits on the ground and his contact with counterparts and institutional actors.
