Luxembourg's Ministry of Sport has confirmed the official inauguration of the Maison du Luxembourg at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
On Saturday 27 July 2024, Luxembourg's Minister of Sport, Georges Mischo officially inaugurated the Maison du Luxembourg at the Stade Jean Bouin in Paris, in the presence of Grand Duke Henri and other members of the Grand Ducal family, Prime Minister Luc Frieden and the President of the Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois (COSL), André Hoffmann.
During the Olympic Games, this space will serve as a meeting place and focal point to promote Luxembourg, its culture and its sporting excellence on the world stage. It will host an exhibition on Olympic and sporting history as well as a series of events for the general public to celebrate Luxembourg's Olympic athletes. Live streams of their competitions will be available, and in collaboration with Kultur lx - Arts Council Luxembourg, several concerts by Luxembourgish artists are being organised on the stage of the Fan Zone of the German partners, which is located on the stadium pitch.
The ministry also described the Maison du Luxembourg as an "ideal" place for networking and meeting. Several events and roundtables organised by various stakeholders will serve as platforms for mutual exchange on different aspects of sport and its societal and economic importance.
In his speech, Minister Mischo highlighted the historic nature of this venue, noting that this is the first time in Luxembourg's Olympic history that the Grand Duchy has had a dedicated house for the duration of the Games in order to encourage its athletes, enjoy the Luxembourg Olympic spirit and present the various facets of Luxembourg in an international setting. The minister thanked and congratulated all the stakeholders who contributed to the realisation of the first Maison du Luxembourg.
Developed in close collaboration with the COSL and in partnership with Deutsche Sport Marketing (DSM), the Maison du Luxembourg is located in the Stade Jean Bouin (9-13 Allée Charles Brennus, F-75016 Paris). It is open from 26 July to 10 August, daily from 16:00. The full programme of events is available on maisonduluxembourg.lu.
