On Thursday 25 July 2024, Luxembourg's NOC, the Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois (COSL), named Ni Xia Lian and Bob Bertemes as Luxembourg's flag bearers for the opening ceremony in Paris. This marks the second time in the history of the Summer Olympic Games that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has asked NOCs to nominate one woman and one man as flag bearers for the opening ceremony.

Last month, the Olympic flame made a stop in Schengen on its way to Paris - the flame had passed through Luxembourg only once before, in 1948.
