On the evening of Friday 19 July 2024, the Indian Association Luxembourg (IAL) asbl organised an event to welcome and meet the Indian shooting team members who are participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The event took place at Le Royal Hotel Luxembourg, providing IAL members with a unique opportunity to engage with the athletes, their coaches and the support staff ahead of the Olympics.
This meet-and-greet session allowed the Indian community and friends in Luxembourg to interact personally with the distinguished shooters, gaining insights into their experiences and preparation for the Olympics. The evening was filled with excitement, camaraderie and inspiration as the athletes shared their journeys and aspirations.
The following athletes were present in Luxembourg for the occasion: Anjum Moudgil; Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar; Swapnil Kusale; Sift Kaur Samra; Arjun Babuta; Sarabjot Singh; Sandeep Singh; Arjun Singh Cheema; Ramita Jindal; Elavenil Valarivan.
They were accompanied by their coaches: Samaresh Jung; Suma Shirur; Manoj Kumar; Thomas Farnik. The following support staff were also present: Pierre Beauchamp; Madhoo Salunkhe; Kshitij Bhoite; Akshita Sekhon; Sumita Jain Mishra; Sanchita Mukherjee; Shivam Dwivedi.
The IAL community wished the Indian shooting team all the best for their performance at the upcoming Olympic Games. The IAL also had the opportunity to present a small good luck gift to each team member, symbolising the community's support and well-wishes.
This meet-and-greet session was followed by dinner at an Indian restaurant for the shooting team along with IAL team members. The dinner provided a more intimate setting for further interaction, allowing for deeper conversations and stronger connections between the Indian shooting team and IAL team members.

The IAL extended its heartfelt thanks to the Indian shooting team for their time and enthusiasm, making this event a “grand success”. The organisers noted that this gathering not only strengthened the bond within the Indian diaspora but also showcased the talent and dedication of India's athletes on the global stage.
