Neimënster has announced that eight young artists from around the world will be taking part in this year's Luxembourg Composition Academy, organised in collaboration with Philharmonie Luxembourg and the United Instruments of Lucilin ensemble.

Since its creation in 2004, neimënster has welcomed nearly 10,000 artists in its residency and creative spaces. Once again this year, eight young artists from all over the world will gather at neimënster from 25 to 30 November 2019 to work for a week in residency on a new play alongside artists Elena Mendoza (Universität der Künste Berlin) and Philippe Leroux (McGill University Montreal), two internationally renowned composer-teachers. They will be supervised by a group of seasoned musicians.

Launched in 2015 by neimënster and composer Marcel Reuter, the Luxembourg Composition Academy allows young composers to work alongside professional composers and musicians. This new edition is taking place in the framework of the "rainy days" festival, under the theme "Less is more". The festival programme also features the closing concert of the academy.

The closing concert will take place on Saturday 30 November 2019 at 11:00 in Salle Robert Krieps at neimënster. Entry is free, although places are limited.
