Ahead of the Night of Museums 2026, the seven participating museums in Luxembourg City have launched a call for artists to create a work or installation for the open-doors event, which will take place on Saturday 10 October 2026.

The Conseil International des Musées Luxembourg (ICOM) is seeking an artistic project capable of “engaging a wide audience throughout the evening and encouraging a short, participatory and creative experience”; a work, device or participatory installation which can be adapted across the seven different venues or developed progressively from one venue to the next.

The project must be aimed at the diverse audience of the Night of Museums (children, young people, adults and seniors) and may include additional contributors (e.g. performances). Museum mediators may be made available to help activate and support the experience.

The call is open to artists or artist collectives residing in Luxembourg and artists or artist collectives residing in the Greater Region; in this case, cultural ties to Luxembourg will be taken into account.

A flat fee for the project (including production) of €15,000 will be provided, along with assistance from museum technical teams for installation and mediation.

The deadline for submission of applications is Monday 15 June 2026.
