The 22nd "Luxembourg Museum Days" will take place on 18 and 19 May 2019; over these two days, visitors are being offered free access to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions of 45 museums and art galleries throughout the Grand Duchy.

Launched in 1997 at the initiative of the "stater museën" group, under the name "L'Invitation aux Musées", and extended over the last decade to some forty museums in the Grand Duchy, the Luxembourg Museum Days offer a privileged opportunity to visit the exceptional museum heritage of Luxembourg and delve into the past. The Luxembourg Museum Days take place as part of the International Museum Day, organised each year by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The International Museum Day aims to highlight the importance of museums in our society as a means of cultural exchange and developing mutual understanding.

From Clervaux to Rumelange, via Rosport and Beckerich, Luxembourg can enjoy a great diversity of museums, specialised in fields as varied as history, nature, art, photography, archaeology, technology, iron and steel, or the traditions and customs of yesteryear. The museums each offer a varied cultural programme for the whole family, with guided tours, workshops, performances, exhibitions and entertainment for children: a cultural mediation work that aims to raise awareness and encourage cultural practice among the public.

The Luxembourg Museum Days will take place on 18 and 19 May from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for all.
