On Tuesday 24 February 2026, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) announced that Boulevard Prince Henri will be closed due to the installation of a mobile crane as part of tree felling works in Parc Amélie.
According to the VdL, the closure will be in place between Avenue Amélie and Avenue de la Porte-Neuve from Saturday 28 February 2026 at 06:00 until Sunday 1 March 2026 at 17:00. The works concern a Sequoiadendron giganteum affected by armillaria fungus, a parasite that attacks the roots and leads to the decline of the tree.
The VdL noted that its Traffic Department will ensure that appropriate signage is put in place.
