On Wednesday 28 January 2026, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) announced that a section of the Val de Hamm will be closed for cliff stabilisation works from Saturday 31 January (05.00) until Monday 2 February (05.00).
According to the VdL, the works will require the closure of the Val de Hamm between Rue des Peupliers and Rue de Pulvermühl to all traffic for the entire duration of the works.
The VdL noted that its traffic service will ensure that appropriate signage is put in place and that the diversion route is clearly marked.
In addition, the following changes will apply to public transport:
⁃ the Pulvermühl district will not be served by AVL bus lines during the works. Bus line 7 will be diverted in both directions via boulevard de la Fraternité, rue Auguste Charles and rue de Hamm.
⁃ the stops Général Patton and Pulvermühl–Hammer Dällchen will not be served. In the direction of Senningerberg, bus line 29 will be diverted between Gare centrale and Cents-Hamm, Halte CFL via rue de Bonnevoie, rue des Trévires and rue de Hamm;
⁃ the stops Al Avenue, Al Molkerei, Général Patton and Pulvermühl–Hammer Dällchen will not be served. The stop Al Avenue will be replaced by Wallis, platform 2 and Al Molkerei by Huese Vic, platform 2;
⁃ in the direction of Hesperange, line 29 will be diverted between Cents-Hamm, Halte CFL and Place Wallis. The stops Pulvermühl–Hammer Dällchen, Général Patton and Al Molkerei will be cancelled. The stop Al Molkerei will be replaced by Huese Vic, platform 1;
⁃ bus line CN3 will be diverted on Saturday 31 January 2026 from the Englebert Neveu stop onwards. It will turn around in rue Englebert Neveu before resuming service towards Bonnevoie. The stops Hamm-Colonie, Hamm-Schoul, Hamm-Kierch, Peupliers, Pulvermühl–Hammer Dällchen, Général Patton and Al Molkerei will not be served.
The VdL emphasised that these works form part of a broader cliff stabilisation programme and aim to prevent risks linked to erosion, preserve the natural heritage and ensure public safety.
