The Grand Ducal Police reported that two separate road accidents occurred in Luxembourg on Sunday 11 August 2024.

According to the police, shortly before 17:30, a motorcyclist was involved in an accident in Bech-Kleinmacher, Quai de la Moselle in Remich. The rider reportedly lost control of his motorcycle during a braking manoeuvre and fell. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment after receiving emergency medical care at the scene. An accident report was filed.

Shortly after 17:30, another serious traffic accident occurred between a car and a motorcycle in Frisange. At the junction of "an der Aluecht" and Rue Robert-Schuman-Strooss, a car turned in the direction of France, and collided with a motorcycle. The motorcyclist and his pillion passenger were thrown from their vehicle. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for further treatment after receiving first aid at the scene. The road was completely closed to traffic for the duration of the rescue operation, the police added. The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
