
The National Roads Administration has announced that roadworks on the A3 motorway are planned between Friday 7 and Monday 10 October 2022.
At the request of Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, the Roads Administration will block the A3 between Gasperich cross (Croix de Gasperich) and Bettembourg cross (Croix de Bettembourg) in the context of works concerning the railway bridge as part of the construction of the new railway line between Luxembourg and Bettembourg. The Roads Administration will also carry out the works necessary for the widening of the A3 as well as maintenance work during this period.
From about 20:00 on Friday until about 06:00 on Monday, the following sections and slip roads on the A3 motorway will be closed to traffic:
- the A3 between Bettembourg cross and Gasperich cross coming from the France-Luxembourg border and towards the A6 and A1 motorways;
- the slip roads to Bettembourg cross from the A13 motorway and in the direction of Gasperich cross on the A3;
- the slip road to the Livange interchange from the N31 and towards Gasperich cross on the A3.
Moreover, from about 22:00 on Friday until about 06:00 on Monday, the following motorway sections and slip roads will be closed to traffic:
- the A3 between Gasperich cross and Bettembourg cross from the Gluck roundabout and towards the France-Luxembourg border;
- the slip roads to Gasperich cross from the A1 and A6 motorways and towards Bettembourg cross from the A3;
- the slip road to the Livange interchange from the N31 and towards Bettembourg cross on the A3.
Traffic on the A3 between Bettembourg cross and Gasperich cross will be diverted in both directions via the A13, A4 and A6 motorways.
Access to the Shell petrol station in the Berchem area will be blocked from 18:00 on Friday until 06:00 on Monday. Similarly, access to the Aral petrol station in the Berchem area will be blocked from 20:00 on Friday until 06:00 on Monday.
With the preparatory work necessary for the closure of the motorway being carried out a few hours beforehand, traffic disruptions are expected towards the end of Friday afternoon.
