27-Year-Old Woman Dies in A7 Accident

The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a fatal road accident occurred on the A7 on the section between the Grouft and Stafelter tunnels in the direction of Luxembourg in the evening of Thursday 9 June 2022, around 21:15.

For reasons that have yet to be clarified, a driver stopped her car in the breakdown lane and got out there, whereupon she was hit by a passing lorry. A little later, the 27-year-old woman from the south of the country succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

The two other occupants of the vehicle were also taken to a hospital to be checked. The measuring and detection service of the criminal police was entrusted with the on-site investigation by the public prosecutor's office. The A7 motorway was closed for several hours between the Lorentzweiler and Waldhof exits.
