The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a serious car accident occurred on the CR159 between Fentange and Bivange on Wednesday evening.
At around 20:00 on Wednesday, a car carrying two people was driving along the CR159 when the driver lost control of the vehicle in a left turn, coming off the road and crashing into the wall of the nearby railway bridge. The vehicle eventually came to a standstill in a ditch.
After receiving first aid at the scene of the accident, the passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The injured driver was also taken to hospital.
The public prosecutor's office ordered an investigation into the accident. The driver had his / her licence confiscated for drink driving and received a fine.
The road was closed to traffic during the rescue mission.
