On Tuesday 24 August 2021, the Grand Ducal Police, in collaboration with the Customs Administration, carried out a large-scale traffic control on Avenue de Luxembourg in Bascharage, resulting in the discovery of a total of 35 road traffic violations.

The four-hour inspection took place from 08:00 to 12:00 and involved a total of 20 officials from both administrations.

20 drivers had driven their vehicle on public roads without a valid inspection certificate (€145 + 2 points), of which the vehicle tax had also not been paid (€74). In addition, one motorcyclist without a valid driver's license was on the road with her bike, which was duly confiscated. Also, the officers discovered an irregularity on one of the cars with regard to the registration plates (€74) and one driver had been warned for disregarding a right of way sign (€145 + 2 points). The customs officials officiated in 11 cases for non-payment of vehicle tax.
