The Ville de Luxembourg has announced that the René Konen tunnel (the Saint Esprit tunnel) will be closed to traffic from 21:00 next Wednesday 25 August to 05:00 on Thursday 26 August.
The reason for the tunnel closure is that tests of the sound and safety equipment are to be carried out by the Administration des Ponts et Chaussées, during which time the tunnel will be closed to all traffic. Throughout these tests, strong automatic and safety warning messages will be announced within the tunnel.
The Traffic Department will ensure that appropriate signage is put in place and will ensure that the detour route is marked.
