The Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) has announced the creation of a new motorcycle club alliance: the Maison du Motard.

Founded with the idea of bringing together Luxembourg's various motorcycle-related groups, the Maison du Motard aims to work for better cohabitation of road users and promote the values of respect, tolerance, responsibility, mutual aid, collaboration and commitment.

From Pétange to Erpeldange via Luxembourg City, no fewer than fourteen motorcycle clubs from all over the country have chosen to come together within the Maison du Motard on the initiative of the ACL to promote the interests of users of motorised two-wheelers.

This new alliance intends to speak with one voice before political decision-makers. Through the know-how of ACL experts in the field of mobility, the Maison du Motard is particularly committed to promoting the use of two-wheeled vehicles as a real alternative to other means of transport in order to contribute to more fluid traffic on Luxembourg's roads.

"Sharing the road in good understanding with other users, promoting good practices on motorcycles, preventing the risk of accidents or even organising training and driving courses are all missions in which the Maison du Motard is involved", explained the new club's coordinator, Daniel Gliedner.

A first four-day training course at the ACL training track at Mondercange has just come to an end. For the occasion, the ACL invited an internationally renowned expert to give courses to seven trainers who in turn will be able to pass on their knowledge in sessions to be given in the months to come.

In addition to its mobility and coordination skills, the ACL will provide the Maison du Motard with its infrastructure such as an office, as well as meeting rooms and the Mondercange track.

This network bringing together Luxembourg's various motorcycle clubs is a continuation of "the positioning of the ACL as a mobility club for all road users", added ACL director Jean-Claude Juchem. "The ACL pleads for respectful mobility for all through training actions and initiatives such as the Maison du Motard".
