The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a serious traffic accident involving a cyclist occurred in Esch-sur-Alzette on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 13:15 on Wednesday, a cyclist was hit by a car at the junction connecting Rue de Rumelange and Rue des Noyers in Esch-sur-Alzette.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after receiving first aid at the scene of the accident.
The criminal investigation department of the Police Grand Ducale was on site, by order of the public prosecutor's office. An accident report was drawn up.
The road was closed in both directions until 16:10 on Wednesday.
