The Luxembourg Police have reported that three people were injured in a serious head-on collision between with two cars near Ettelbruck early this morning.

Around 02:00 on Thursday morning, two cars collided head-on on shortly after the merger of the A7/B7 between Shieren and Ettelbruck in central Luxembourg. 

The accident resulted in two people being trapped in one of the cars. The rescue services arrived on scene and freed the victims from the wreck. Nevertheless, the driver and front passenger suffered serious injuries and were received first aid before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

The rescue services also had to free the driver of the other car from the wreck. The individual in question was also injured and taken to the hospital.

The road in question was closed to traffic for several hours and an investigation was launched.

The accident follows a similar head-on collision involving two cars on Rue de Limpach in Mondercange on Tuesday morning. Similarly, one car driver was trapped and had to be freed from the vehicle wreck. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment, with one of them having suffered serious injuries.
