The Roads Authority has announced that roadworks will be carried out again this weekend on the A3 motorway in Luxembourg between the Bettembourg Cross and the Gasperich Cross.

These works form part of the construction of a new railway line between Luxembourg and Bettembourg, as well as maintenance work, and will see the following road closures from 20:00 on Thursday 31 October until 06:00 on Monday 4 November 2019: the A3 motorway between the Bettembourg Cross and the Gasperich Cross from the Franco-Luxembourgish border and towards the A6 and A1 motorways; the slip roads at the Bettembourg cross from the A13 and towards the Gasperich Cross on the A3; the slip road at the Livange interchange from the N31 and towards the Gasperich Cross on the A3.

In addition, from around 22:00 on Thursday 31 October until 06:00 on Monday 4 November 2019, the following roads will be closed to traffic: the A3 motorway between the Gasperich Cross and the Livange interchange from Gluck roundabout and towards the Bettembourg Cross; the slip roads at the Gasperich Cross from the A1 and A6 motorways and towards the Bettembourg Cross on the A3.

For the duration of these works, traffic on the A3 between the Bettembourg Cross and the Gasperich Cross (both directions) will be diverted via the A13, A4 and A6 motorways.

Furthermore, access to the "Shell" petrol station in the Berchem area will be blocked from 18:00 on Thursday evening until 06:00 on Monday morning. Similarly, access to the "Aral" petrol station in Berchem will be blocked from 22:00 on Thursday until 06:00 on Monday.

Since the preparatory work necessary for the closure of the motorway will be carried out a few hours beforehand on Thursday, traffic disruptions are to be expected in the late afternoon.
