Additional Traffic Changes Planned for Luxembourg City over Weekend

The City of Luxembourg has announced further traffic changes related to roadworks in the coming days; these changes will namely affect Place de l'Etoile, Rue Jean-Baptiste Fresez and Rue Frantz Seimetz, and Rue de Bonnevoie.

Place de l'Etoile

The renewal of the wearing course at Place de l'Etoile on parts of Route d'Arlon (between Place de l'Etoile and Square de New York) and Boulevard de la Foire (between Place de l'Etoile and Rue de la Chapelle) will be carried out as part of the Luxtram project from 06:00 on Saturday 26 October until 05:00 on Monday 28 October 2019.

These works foresee the following traffic changes:
• From Saturday at 06:00 until Monday at 05:00: the narrowing of traffic lanes at Place de l'Etoile;
• From Sunday at 12:00 until Monday at 05:00: the closure of Route d'Arlon to all traffic between Place de l'Etoile and Square de New York.

Changes to public transport are also expected from 12:00 on Sunday until 05:00 on Monday. The following bus lines will be affected: line 8 towards Bertrange, Waassertuerm and towards Hamilius; line 12 towards P+R Bouillon and towards Hamilius; lines 21 and 28 towards Belle Etoile and towards Hamilius.

Rue Jean-Baptiste Fresez, Rue Frantz Seimetz

Final repair works will be carried out on Rue Jean-Baptiste Fresez (including the intersection with Avenue Pasteur and Rue Batty Weber) and Rue Frantz Seimetz (including the intersection with Avenue Victor Hugo and Square André) on Monday 28 October (07:00-20:00) and Tuesday 29 October 2019 (07:00-20:00).

During these works, the following roads will be closed:
• Monday 28 October 2019, from 07:00-20:00:- Rue Batty Weber; Rue Jean Baptiste Fresez; Avenue Pasteur (between Rue Léandre Lacroix and Rue Michel Lentz); Rue Joseph Kutter;
• Tuesday 29 October 2019, from 07:00-20:00:- Rue Jean-Baptiste Fresez; Avenue Victor Hugo (between Rue Michel Lentz and Rue Frantz Seimetz); Rue Frantz Seimetz (between Avenue Victor Hugo and Rue J.-P. Koenig); Square Edouard André.

Public transport changes are also foreseen, namely to the following bus lines:
• Monday 28 October 2019, from 05:00-20:00:- lines 3/30 towards Lycée Michel Lucius and towards Hamilius; line 19 towards Neumans Park and towards Gare Centrale;
• Tuesday 29 October (05:00) until Wednesday 30 October 2019 (07:00):- line 19 towards Neumans Park; lines 2/4 towards Hamilius and towards Lycée Michel Lucius.

Rue de Bonnevoie

The Traffic Service of the City of Luxembourg will carry out the renewal of the wearing course on Rue de Bonnevoie between Avenue de la Gare and Rue du Fort Neipperg (including the intersection) from Saturday 26 October to Monday 28 October 2019.

These works foresee the following traffic changes between 05:00 on Sunday 27 October until 05:00 on Monday 28 October 2019: the closure of Rue de Bonnevoie to all traffic on the section between Avenue de la Gare and Rue du Fort Neipperg (including the intersection); the introduction of a one-way traffic system on Rue Bender from Rue du Fort Wallis up to and including Rue du Fort Neipperg.

Public transport will also be affected, from 05:00 on Saturday 26 October until 05:00 on Monday 28 October 2019. The following bus lines are affected: lines 3/30, 5/6, 15, 32 and CN3 towards Bonnevoie; lines 3/30 and 32 towards Hamilius; lines 5/6 and 15 towards Hamilius.
