The City of Luxembourg has announced that a number of roadworks will be taking place in the Gare, Limpertsberg and Centre districts in the coming days.

Luxembourg-Gare (25-27 October 2019)

Infrastructure works and the installation of public utility networks will be carried out on Rue de Hollerich from 20:00 on Friday 25 October, from 05:00 on Saturday 26 October and from 06:00 to 12:00 on Sunday 27 October 2019. Consequently, from Friday to Sunday, a one-way traffic system will apply to Rue de Hollerich from Rue Wenceslas I towards and up to Rue Jean-Baptiste Merkels. Traffic will be diverted via Rue de Strasbourg.

In terms of public transport changes, bus lines 1/125, 4, 27 and CN1 travelling in the direction of the Gare Centrale will be diverted at Route d’Esch via Rue de la Déportation and Rue d’Alsace towards Place de la Gare. The bus stops Assurances Sociales quai 2, Jean-Pierre Merkels and Fonderie in the direction of the Gare Centrale will be removed and replaced by the stops Assurances Sociales quai 2 and Hollerich-Gare. RGTR lines 170, 177 and 315 will depart from Luxembourg-Gare quai 104 (between Rue d’Épernay and Rue du Commerce) instead of the Fonderie stop.

Luxembourg-Limpertsberg (26 October - 2 November 2019)

Public utility works will also be carried out on Rue de Rollingergrund at the junction with Avenue de la Faïencerie, from 07:00 on Saturday 26 October until 18:00 on Saturday 2 November 2019. During these works, Avenue de la Faïencerie will be a one-way street from Rue Dormans towards and up to Rue de Rollingergrund. In addition, Rue de Rollingergrund will be reduced to two traffic lanes at the junction with Avenue de la Faïencerie.

Luxembourg-Centre (27-28 October 2019)

The national Roads Authority will carry out asphalt leveling on Boulevard Franklin D. Roosevelt on the section between the René Konen (Saint Esprit) tunnel and Rue de l’ancien Athénée, from 05:00 on Sunday 27 October until 05:00 on Monday 28 October 2019. These works foresee the closure of Boulevard Franklin D. Roosevelt to all traffic on the section between the René Konen tunnel and Rue de l'ancien Athénée. Nevertheless, access to the Saint-Esprit car park will remain permanently available for vehicles coming from Boulevard Franklin D. Roosevelt, via Boulevard Royal.

The Traffic Department of the City of Luxembourg will put appropriate signage in place to illustrate these changes.
