On Thursday morning, a car mechanic suffered severe burns during an engine inspection in a garage in Heffingen, a small town near Larochette in central Luxembourg.
At around 09:15 on Thursday 29 August 2019, the car mechanic was working on the engine of a vehicle when petrol caught fire, leaving the worker with severe burns.
An emergency doctor provided treatment on site before an emergency helicopter transported the victim to a specialist clinic in Liège in Belgium.
The Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM) was informed.
