Both the A1 motorway between the Hamm and Kirchberg interchanges and between the Bettembourg cross and the Hellange interchange will be closed to traffic this weekend due to roadworks.

Between Friday and Sunday, the Roads Administration will proceed with a project to renew the wearing course on the A1 motorway between the Hamm interchange and the Kirchberg interchange. Consequently, from around 20:30 on Friday 28 June until around 22:00 on Sunday 30 June 2019, the following road sections will be closed:

  • the A1 motorway between the Hamm interchange and the Kirchberg interchange in the direction of Trier;
  • the slip road of the Hamm interchange from the N2A towards the A1 (Trier);
  • the Kirchberg interchange slip road from the N51 towards the A7 (Friedhof)

In this context, traffic from the Gasperich cross towards Trier from the A1 will be diverted from the Hamm (S7) interchange via the N2A, N1A and N1 to the Senningerberg (S9) interchange in the direction of the A1. Traffic from the Kirchberg interchange to the A7 (Friedhof) will be diverted via the Senningerberg interchange (S9) back to the Grünewald junction to the A7.

At the same time, works taking place on the Bettembourg cross and the Hellange interchange will see the following road sections closed between 20:30 on Friday until 22:00 on Sunday:

  • The slip road of the Bettembourg cross from the Gasperich cross A3 and towards Schengen A13;
  • The slip road of the Hellange interchange from the cross of Bettembourg A13 and towards the N13 (Hellange)

Traffic coming from the Gasperich cross and towards Schengen from the A13 will be diverted via the Dudelange interchange (S3) back on the Gasperich cross towards Schengen. Similarly, traffic from the Bettembourg cross towards Hellange will be diverted via the Frisange interchange (S10) back onto the A13 towards the Hellange interchange.
