A4 to Partially Close this Weekend due to Road Works

Due to road works, parts of the A4 motorway will be closed from Friday between the Cessange cross and the Esch-sur-Alzette junction.

Between 22:00 on Friday 7 June and 06:00 Tuesday 11 June 2019, the Roads Administration will carry out road works on the Pontpierre interchange on the A4 motorway between the Cessange cross and the Esch-sur-Alzette junction.

During this time, the A4 between the Cessange cross and the Esch-sur-Alzette junction will be closed in both directions. Also closed to traffic will be the slip roads of the Foetz, Pontpierre, Leudelange-Sud and Leudelange-Nord interchanges, the slip roads of the Cessange cross from the A6 motorway and towards the A4 motorway and the slip roads from the Esch junction from the A13 towards the Cessange cross on the A4 motorway.

Traffic at the Dudelange-Burange interchange on the A13 motorway from the Bettembourg cross and towards the Esch junction will be reduced to one lane.
Moreover, traffic coming from the A4 (Raemerich) and A13 (Pétange) and towards the cross of Cessange will be diverted from the Esch junction via the A13 - cross of Bettembourg - A3 - cross of Gasperich - A6 to the cross of Cessange. Traffic from the A6 and A4 (Merl) and towards the Esch junction will be diverted from the Gasperich cross via A3 - Bettembourg-A13 cross to the Esch junction on the A4. Similarly, traffic from the secondary network and towards the Foetz, Pontpierre, Leudelange-Sud and Leudelange-Nord interchanges will be diverted via the N4 road towards Foetz and the Gasperich ban.The N13 will also be closed in both directions between Wickrange and Pontpierre at the height of the Pontpierre interchange.

At the same time, the Roads Administration will be carrying out maintenance work on the A4, including straightening the hard shoulder, repair work and cleaning of the pipeline, drains and road signs.

Since the preparatory work necessary for the closure of the A6 motorway will be carried out a few hours beforehand, traffic disruptions are to be expected in the early evening.
