A number of roadworks are planned for Luxembourg-Ville in the coming days, namely between Boulevard Joseph II and Avenue Emile Reuter, Rue Jean-Baptiste Fresez and Avenue Victor Hugo and Rue de Rollingergrund and Avenue de la Faïencerie.
These works will run from Saturday 6 to Saturday 20 April 2019 and will affect road and public transport users in the Luxembourg capital.
During this period, traffic will be affected due to works on the Luxtram project at the intersection of Boulevard Joseph II with Avenue Emile Reuter. Only one lane will be open on Boulevard Joseph during the works, which may lead to traffic delays. It should be noted that the works in question, carried out between 07:00 and 18:00, may cause noise pollution. There are no planned changes to the Ville de Luxembourg buses, although bus line 33, on its route between Strassen, Primeurs and Luxexpo, could be disturbed during evening peak hours. Delays, especially on lines AVL 15, 17 and 33 may occur.
In addition, public utility network and infrastructure works will be undertaken at the intersection of Rue Jean- Baptiste Fresez and Avenue Victor Hugo. This work will see the following traffic changes: both Rue Jean-Baptiste Fresez and Place Edouard André and Avenue Victor Hugo, between Avenue Joseph Sax and Rue Jean-Pierre Fresez, will be closed to all traffic. Regarding public transportation, the Place André Quai 2 stop on line 19 towards Neumans Park will be removed and replaced by the Waassertuerm and Batty Weber stops.
Similar public utility network and infrastructure works will be undertaken at the intersection of Rue de Rollingergrund and Avenue de Luxembourg. During these works, Avenue de la Faïencerie will be closed to all traffic between Rue de Rollingergrund and house n° 42 on Avenue de la Faïencerie. Access to the avenue is still possible via Limpertsberg. Temporary traffic lights will be installed in Rue Rollingergrund at the junction with Avenue de la Faïencerie.
Access to residents will be guaranteed and the appropriate signs will be put in place.
