Luxembourg racecar driver Dylan Pereira finished in 13th place in the first race of the 2019 season of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Barcelona.

In the timed practice, Dylan Pereira started to calmly warm up the tyres of his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and checked the condition of the track. He then made three quick laps and returned to his box for some adjustments. Back on the track, the Luxembourger improved his best lap, getting 7th place on the starting grid.

At the start of the race, Dylan Pereira cautiously maintained his position but, in the second lap, trying to overtake, he came off the track and fell to 11th place. After overtaking Max van Splunteren, the Momo Megatron Lechner Racing driver was hit and spun, finding himself in 26th place.

During the rest of the race, the Luxembourger showcased some impressive overtaking, which allowed him to climb thirteen places and finish in 13th place (in points).

The Barcelona circuit proved challenging for the drivers due to its combination of slow bends, fast sections, hard braking and a finish line that exceeds one kilometre in length.

Whilst the opening season of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup fell below his expectations, Dylan Pereira's speed and tenacity offer optimism for the next races. Indeed, the Luxembourger will return to competition next weekend with the third and fourth races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, held from 17 to 19 May at the Autodrome Most in the Czech Republic.
