Luxembourg racecar driver Dylan Pereira has placed in the top ten of this year's Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2018, finishing in 7th place overall.

This past weekend, Dylan Pereira finished in 10th and 9th place irespectively in the competition's 9th and 10th (final) races in Mexico.

In his debut in Mexico, the Luxembourger climbed three places during the 9th race and finished in the top 10. The race was held at an altitude of 2,240 metres, which reduces the power and affects the performance of the Porsche GT3 Cup type 2.

Pereira began the race among the top five in the free practice before finishing in 9th place. In a highly contested qualification, the MOMO Megatron Lechner Racing driver left the starting grid in 13th place, just six-tenths of a second from pole position. In the race itself, the Luxembourger got off to a good start and immediately climber three places, coming 10th already at the end of the first round, before advancing to 9th place in the following round. Some obstacles led to a drop to 11th position, but the 8th round saw Pereira return to 10th place where he remained until he reached the finish line.

During the Cup's 10th and final race, Pereira started from 11th place, although only five-tenths of a second from pole position. He managed to overtake two opponents in the first round, entering the top 10. In the third round, he moved to 8th place and fought for 7th place before being overtaken in the seventh round which saw him fall to 9th place as he crossed the finish line.

Pereira's success in Mexico has allowed him to finish in 7th place overall in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2018.
