Luxembourg racecar driver Dylan Pereira has become the rookie champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2018.

A 5th and a 4th place on the Hockenheim circuit allowed the Luxembourger to win the Rookies standings and finish in 5th place in the general classification last weekend, in his final race as part of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2018/

In the timed practice of the 13th and 14th races, the last of this German championship, Dylan Pereira confirmed that he was one of the fastest drivers, ranking 2nd place in the first race and third for the second.

In the first race, Dylan Pereira got off to a good start, retaining the 2nd position. On the ninth lap, ten Voorde forced him off the track, for which the Dutch racer was penalised with a drive-through and the Luxembourger lost six places. With six laps to go, the Lechner Racing Team racer overtook his opponents to finish 5th and lead the Rookies.

In the second race, Dylan Pereira again made a good start and immediately put pressure on Michael Ammermüller. In the sixth round, an accident between the two competitors forced the race to pause temporarily. When it restarted, Pereira tried to stay in 3rd place but under pressure from ten Voorde, he preferred not to risk another accident or exit from the track. Instead, the Luxembourger finished in 4th, a postition that allowed him to end this season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany with the title of Best Rookie.
