Ride-share platform, Uber, has announced the launch of an Uber Green fully electric car option for passengers in Luxembourg from Thursday 24 April 2025.
According to Uber, Luxembourg’s passengers can now opt for fully electric vehicles for their journey. The Uber Green option is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, aiming to become a fully zero-emission mobility platform by 2040, by providing trips solely through zero-emission vehicles, public transportation and micro-mobility solutions. Luxembourg is reported to be the latest in an expanding network of European cities offering Uber Green.
The price of Uber Green journeys is the same as UberX and the cost will be visible when ordering. The initiative is expected to reduce fossil fuel emissions, improve air quality and decrease the carbon footprint associated with urban transportation.
Laurent Slits, Director for Luxembourg at Uber, commented: “Launching Uber Green in Luxembourg is an exciting milestone that underlines our commitment to sustainability and responsible urban mobility. Luxembourg is renowned for its forward-thinking approach to sustainable mobility and environmental innovation. Uber Green aligns seamlessly with these values, and we’re proud to offer both residents and visitors a cleaner, greener way to travel around the city and beyond.”
