Luxembourg's Public Transport Administration (ATP) and Luxtram have confirmed that the tram will serve Luxembourg Airport in Findel starting on Sunday 2 March 2025.
"The Luxembourg public transport network is taking a new step forward with the completion of the first tram line and its arrival at Luxembourg Airport from 2 March 2025," they noted in a press release. This extension includes the addition of two new stops, "Findel - Luxembourg Airport" and "Senningerberg, Héienhaff".
From Sunday, the new tram stop "Findel - Luxembourg Airport" will allow travellers to reach the airport directly by tram while "ensuring an optimal connection" between the tram and several AVL (6, 16, and 29) and RGTR (223, 302, 361 and 850) bus lines.
In order to guarantee efficient access to the airport, the bus stops "Aéroport Luxembourg/Findel Quai 5" and "Aéroport Luxembourg/Findel Quai 6" will be set up on the Route de Trèves (N1) and near the exit of the airport's Parking A.
Moreover, with the arrival of the tram at the "Héienhaff P+R" stop, the "Senningerberg, Héienhaff" bus stop on the Route de Trèves (N1) will be put into service. The stop will be served by the AVL (6, 16 and 29) and RGTR (223, 361 and 850) bus lines and is said to "ensure a smooth connection" with the tram.
In the long term, a new bus station is expected to strengthen this infrastructure and accommodate more RGTR lines from the east of the country and Germany, thus enhancing regional connectivity.
The "Senningerberg, Autobunn" stop on the N1 will be replaced by the "Senningerberg, Parishaff" stop located on Boulevard Hoehenhof.
"With these new stops, we will bring an improvement for public transport users and thus consolidate the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's commitment to efficient and environmentally friendly mobility," stated ATP and Luxtram.
