On Wednesday 23 October 2024, Pony.ai Europe, the European division of the autonomous vehicle company Pony.ai, and Luxembourg-based transport company Emile Weber signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing the development of autonomous mobility in the Grand Duchy.
As reported by Pony.ai Europe and Emile Weber, this partnership will jumpstart the research, development and deployment of autonomous vehicles in Luxembourg. The partners said they shared the belief that autonomous mobility has an important role in the future of Luxembourg's transportation ecosystem.
Pony.ai Europe and Emile Weber described this MoU as another milestone in Pony.ai's expansion into Europe in 2024. In March 2024, Pony.ai announced the signing of an MoU with the Luxembourg government to advance autonomous mobility in the country. In September 2024, Pony.ai formally established Pony.ai Europe and its European hub in Luxembourg, which will serve as a centre for the company's research and development of autonomous vehicle technology. This Luxembourg-based hub is said to be pivotal in driving technological advancements and tailoring solutions for the European market.
