The regional tourist offices of Mullerthal – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland and Éislek, the municipality of Echternach and the Nature and Forrest Administration are organising their first Mobility for All event at the Echternach lake this Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May 2019.
The two touristic regions considered as hiking and outdoor regions with a rather difficult topography have expressed their willingness to develop products for persons with reduced mobility.
From 9:00 this Friday, school classes will have the opportunity to participate in awareness workshops. The official inauguration of the event will take place on Friday 10 May at 14:00, in the presenece of the Minister of Tourism, Lex Delles. From 14:30 to 17:00, everyone can take participate in these workshops.
The association Leederwon will also offer activities where visitors can experience the everyday sensations of persons with reduced mobility. This includes "blind climbing" on the climbing wall of the youth hostel which is also in charge of the catering and drinks at this event.
Similar activities will run from 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 11 May.
The event is part of the INTERREG project "Barrierefreiheit ohne Grenzen - Barrierefreier Naturtourismus im Deutsch-Luxemburgischen Naturpark" which aims to make nature accessible for all visitors.
