On Thursday 17 February 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 559 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 982 fatalities (three new deaths since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.

559 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 2,702 tests carried out the day before, representing 88.07 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 20.73%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 604.43. 

A total of 63 people are in hospital with the virus, including ten patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 14,891 active infections known, whilst a total of 160,863 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.60.

A total of 1,257,354 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (477,590 first doses, 424,909 second doses, 354,855 additional doses). A total of 466,379 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 99.23; for vaccinated individuals, this was 83.67. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
