On Monday 18 October 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported seventeen new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 839 fatalities (no new deaths over the weekend) resulting from the virus to date.
Seventeen Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 278 tests carried out the day before, representing 2.68 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 6.12%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 77.14.
A total of eighteen people are in hospital with the virus, including seven patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,397 active infections known, whilst a total of 77,746 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.12.
A total of 798,373 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (424,692 first doses, 373,681 second doses). A total of 412,411 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
