On Wednesday 13 October 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 163 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 838 fatalities (one new death since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

163 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 3,073 tests carried out the day before, representing 25.68 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 5.3%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 72.43. 

A total of 21 people are in hospital with the virus, including two patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 1,390 active infections known, whilst a total of 77,235 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.01.

A total of 794,540 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (422,408 first doses, 372,132 second doses). A total of 410,457 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
