On Tuesday 5 October 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 99 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 835 fatalities (no new deaths since 22 September) resulting from the virus to date.
99 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 1,817 tests carried out the day before, representing 15.60 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 5.45%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 61.43.
A total of 23 people are in hospital with the virus, including seven patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,211 active infections known, whilst a total of 76,574 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.02.
A total of 788,514 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (419,810 first doses, 368,704 second doses). A total of 406,557 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
