On Thursday 30 September 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 89 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 835 fatalities (no new deaths since 22 September) resulting from the virus to date.
89 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 2,541 tests carried out the day before, representing 14.02 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 3.5%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 52.86.
A total of 26 people are in hospital with the virus, including eight patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,153 active infections known, whilst a total of 76,231 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.0.
A total of 785,963 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (418,728 first doses, 367,325 second doses). A total of 404,898 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
