Luxembourg's Ministry of State and the Ministry of Health have confirmed that the first COVID-19 vaccination invitations are being sent out this week to adolescents aged 12 to 17, starting with the oldest.

Following the recommendations of the Superior Council of Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses - CSMI) of 10 June 2021, priority will be given to the most vulnerable.

As such, the CSMI has established, in collaboration with the Société luxembourgeoise de pédiatrie (paedeatric society), a list of medical conditions that make an adolescent potentially more likely to develop a serious infection. This list is available on the Health portal via the link: sante.public.lu.

Depending on their age, the young people concerned will receive an invitation from the Ministry of Health by post, with a detailed indication of the procedure for making an appointment in one of the vaccination centres of their choice. Personalised assistance is also available via the dedicated hotline: 247-65533.

Adolescents whose state of health may expose them to an increased risk according to the established list may be registered for vaccination via their attending physician or specialist physician and will then receive an invitation by post.

It is expected that each individual in this category will have received an invitation within the next two to three weeks. Invitations will be sent as and when vaccine deliveries arrive.
