On Thursday 24 June 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported four new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 818 fatalities (no new deaths since 1 June) resulting from the virus to date.
Four Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 489 tests carried out the day before, representing 0.63 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.82%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 4.14.
A total of five people are in hospital with the virus, including two patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Wednesday 23 June 2021, there are 213 active infections known, whilst a total of 69,555 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg currently stands at 0.77.
As of Wednesday, a total of 505,986 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (311,296 first doses, 194,690 second doses); 5,703 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 752 received their second dose on Wednesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
