On Thursday 17 June 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported eighteen new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 818 fatalities (no new deaths since 1 June) resulting from the virus to date.
Eighteen Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 7,044 tests carried out the day before, representing 2.84 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.26%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 11.71.
A total of ten people are in hospital with the virus, including two patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Tuesday 15 June 2021, there are 482 active infections known, whilst a total of 69,185 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg currently stands at 0.74.
As of Wednesday, a total of 460,550 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (278,096 first doses, 182,454 second doses); 2,239 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,770 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
