On Wednesday 9 June 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 52 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 818 fatalities (no new deaths since 1 June) resulting from the virus to date.

52 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 6,288 tests carried out the day before, representing 8.19 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.83%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 35.00. 

A total of 20 people are in hospital with the virus, including three patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Tuesday 8 June 2021, there are currently 698 active infections known, whilst a total of 68,775 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.90.

As of Tuesday, a total of 406,570 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (257,923 first doses, 148,647 second doses); 3,364 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 5,207 received their second dose on Tuesday.
