On 1 and 2 June 2021, a vaccination event targeting homeless people in Luxembourg took place within the framework of the "Wanteraktioun" (winter action) initiative.
This vaccination event was organised by the Ministry of Health, particularly the mobile vaccination teams of the Health Directorate, and the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region, in close collaboration with organisations working in the field of homelessness.
A total of 63 people were vaccinated (out of 98 people who registered) during these two days, including 57 with the single-dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. Six people under the age of 30 received a first dose of the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine.
Each mobile vaccination team was made up of a medical team leader and an administrative and logistical assistant from the Luxembourg Army, the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (Corps grand-ducal d'incendie et de secours - CGDIS) or the Customs and Excise Agency. Local non-profit Dräieck was responsible for the preparation and coordination between the different non-profit organisations.
