On Tuesday 1 June 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 51 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 817 fatalities (two new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
51 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 9,565 tests carried out the day before, representing 8.03 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.53%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 51.57.
A total of 24 people are in hospital with the virus, including seven patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Monday 31 May 2021, there are currently 905 active infections known, whilst a total of 68,261 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.83.
As of Monday, a total of 351,056 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (229,708 first doses, 121,348 second doses); 1,690 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,791 received their second dose on Monday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
