On Thursday 27 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 80 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 813 fatalities (one new death since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
80 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 9,699 tests carried out the day before, representing 12.60 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.83%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 42.57.
A total of 32 people are in hospital with the virus, including seventeen patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Wednesday 26 May 2021, there are currently 1,112 active infections known, whilst a total of 67,824 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.60.
As of Wednesday, a total of 329,390 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (224,155 first doses, 105,235 second doses); 782 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,704 received their second dose on Wednesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
