On Tuesday 25 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported one new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection; there have been 812 fatalities (one new death since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
One Luxembourg resident tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 420 tests carried out the day before, representing 0.16 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.24%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 50.57.
A total of 34 people are in hospital with the virus, including seventeen patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Monday 25 May 2021, there are currently 1,266 active infections known, whilst a total of 67,501 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.80.
As of Monday, a total of 322,751 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (222,112 first doses, 100,639 second doses); 1,100 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 1,766 received their second dose on Monday.
