On Saturday 15 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 106 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 806 fatalities (no new deaths since Friday) resulting from the virus to date.
106 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Saturday from a total of 10,333 tests carried out the day before, representing 16.70 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.03%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 86.43, under 100 for the 2nd day in a row; the last time it was below 100 was on 9 October 2020.
A total of 71 people are in hospital with the virus, including 29 patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Thursday, there are currently 1,933 active infections known, whilst a total of 66,183 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.93.
As of Thursday, a total of 269,883 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (191,724 first doses, 78,159 second doses); 4,105 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,880 received their second dose on Thursday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
