On Wednesday 12 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 182 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 806 fatalities (no new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
182 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 9,045 tests carried out the day before, representing 28.67 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.01%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 108.14.
A total of 84 people are in hospital with the virus, including 30 patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Tuesday 11 May 2021, there are currently 2,206 active infections known, whilst a total of 65,736 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.89.
As of Tuesday, a total of 255,678 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (183,288 first doses, 72,390 second doses); 3,854 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,332 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
