On Thursday 29 April 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 211 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 794 fatalities (two new deaths since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.

211 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 9,418 tests carried out the day before, representing 33.24 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.24%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 158.14. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.

A total of 95 people are in hospital with the virus, including 36 patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Wednesday 28 April 2021, there are currently 2,803 active infections known, whilst a total of 63,448 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.97.

As of Wednesday, a total of 186,480 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (136,453 first doses, 50,027 second doses); 3,764 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 797 received their second dose on Wednesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
