Luxembourg's Ministry of State and the Ministry of Digitalisation announced today that 16,200 invitations have been sent out to people having registered on the waiting list wishing to voluntarily get vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Vaxzevria® (AstraZeneca) vaccine.
The waiting list, which opened last Wednesday (impfen.lu), allows individuals aged 30-54 to register their interest in getting the Vaxzevria jab.
Luxembourg's authorities yesterday sent out 16,200 invitation letters by post. Individuals who receive an invitation can now make an appointment at a vaccination centre.
Like all other vaccination invitations, these invitations contain a unique code which must be entered when making an appointment. This code, together with the invitee's national identification number (matricule), ensures the validity of the invitation.
In order to better identify individuals registered on this waiting list during the appointment process, a longer sequence of characters has been added to this code compared to other vaccination invitations. The authorities noted, however, that this sequence was not taken into account in full when printing the invitations, which meant that the code printed on the invitation letter was not recognised by the appointment booking system. This error has been corrected so that the system accepts the shorter code. Even if the last character of the code has not been printed, the uniqueness of each code is guaranteed.
As such, anyone having received an invitation is requested to use the code as communicated to them in the invitation letter.
