On Thursday 22 April 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 209 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 790 fatalities (two new deaths since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
209 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 8,922 tests carried out the day before, representing 33.38 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.34%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 157.57. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.
A total of 112 people are in hospital with the virus, including 34 patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Wednesday 21 April 2021, there are currently 3,087 active infections known, whilst a total of 61,936 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.99.
As of Wednesday, a total of 170,038 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (123,137 first doses, 46,901 second doses); 2,829 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 487 received their second dose on Wednesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
